Website tunes are in abc format. This is a text-based method of writing out music that can be converted to standard notation and played back by an abc reader. To learn more about it or to answer questions about it go to the Introduction to abc Notation. There is some discussion of more advanced topics there as well.
If you have a reasonably clear idea of what to do with the contents of the page, here are some hints for making best use of the page.
The menu system is different in this part of the website. There are three menus at the top of the page. To dismiss a menu move the pointer away.
Here is the collection of tunes with associated dances: contras, squares and other dances that are generally danced to that tune. Note that when titles begin with generic words like "A", "The", "Reel de", etc., they may be alphabetized under the second or third word. To find a specific tune you may find it useful to consult the Tune Index page (link above). Tune listing links take you to the tune's location on the page.
